Mission Statement
Hallelujah Tae Kwon Do helps inspire goodwill and bring together Native American communities through the love of Christ and principles of Tae Kwon Do. By introducing both the Gospel of Jesus Christ and Tae Kwon Do, a Korean martial art that combines combat and self-defense techniques with sport and exercise along with philosophical principles of integrity, courtesy, patience, self-discipline, and invincibility of spirit, Hallelujah Tae Kwon Do hopes to empower people to lead to improve and build healthier lives while teaching the love, glorify, and honor of the Lord Jesus Christ.
Why Tae Kwon Do?
Hallelujah TKD (HTKD) helps one discover the sciences of his or her body.
One needs no special equipment to practice. Natural exercise tones inner muscle and makes all joints flexible for both strength and agility. Nervous stimulation teaches one’s body to relax and yet be ready, with coordination and balance, for any action. Controlled breathing builds endurance and produces smooth circulation of blood. Consequently the entire body maintains health and fitness naturally, preserving its youthful qualities throughout life.
Few activities sharpen the mind as well as martial study. Successful practice requires full attention and total concentration, which carries over to all other activities in life. Good logic and intuition are the results of an honest desire to understand martial
principles. Meditation creates a relaxed, open mind. The gradual accumulation of Self-Confidence is the foundation of steady composure under any circumstance.
The course of spiritual improvement is the most abstract, yet most important aspect of self-perfection. H TKD is not a study of fighting principles, but to respect others with love and care. Virtue is the reward of pure-hearted intentions in learning. Showing respect for others is actually a statement of respect for one’s self. Satisfaction and self-confidence allow one to live in dignity while always maintaining absolute humanity. Searching for modesty and peace will produce a masterful understanding of one’s body, mind, and soul.
Goals
• Courtesy: To be thoughtful and considerate of others. Taekwondo students and instructors should be polite, and show consideration for others
• Integrity: To be honest and good. Taekwondo practitioners should live by a code of moral values and principles.
• Perseverance: To never give up in the pursuit of one's goals. Students should welcome challenges, because challenges cause us to grow and improve.
• Self-Control: To have control of your body and mind. A Taekwondo student should practice controlling his actions and reactions.
• Indomitable Spirit: To have courage in the face of adversity. A Taekwondo student should never be dominated by, or have his spirit broken by another.
